The Dylan Perrillo Orchestra hails from NY's Capital District. We are a colorful ensemble of instruments and people who have come together to celebrate the beginnings of jazz. The group began playing together in early 2013, performing primarily arrangements of tunes from the 20s to 40s.
Dylan Perrillo, a Voorheesville, NY native, began collecting friends and musical ideas for this group in the blustery winter of 2013 whilst on tour with The Sunny Side of the Street Band. It was then that the dream of playing the old school with all the pals from the Albany, NY area was conceived. From there the group began to form and speculate with great wonder about all the great things they could accomplish musically.
Our influences vary greatly between all eleven musicians in the group, although they are predominantly jazz oriented - from Billie Holiday to Louis Armstrong, Al Bowlly, Annette Hanshaw, Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Charles Mingus, Eric Dolphy and a lot of contemporary musicians as well. The list could go on but we recommend that you come hang out with us at a show of ours to hear for yourself!
